- Day Ticket (catch and keep) – £20 + £7 per fish

Facilities
- Toilet facilities are situated in the green breeze-block building to the side of the Cabin. The key hangs on the door frame.
- Fisherman’s hut to record catch details.
- Fishing will look a little different from the 2025 season onwards but we hope that we will be able to balance the needs of our fishermen and those of our Boat House guests to make things successful for both.
- The main alteration is that Boat House guests will have sole use of the lake in the evenings from 6pm. Therefore, unless the white board in the fishermen’s hut, extends fishing hours on a given day, please vacate the lake at this time
Otby Trout Lake Fishing Rules
Pre-booking is essential either directly or via Go Catch.
Otby Lake 2025 season is now closed. We will re-open on 1st April 2026.
The fishing season will run from 1st April 2026 to 31st October 2026 and thereafter by specific arrangement with Mr & Mrs Cooper.
Fishing:
- Fishing is by fly only
- Barbless hooks are obligatory and the use of knotless landing nets is strongly encouraged.
- The use of lures is discouraged.
- Trolling is not allowed.
- All browns and rainbows under 14 inches will be returned unless damaged or distressed.
- Only rainbows above 14 inches may be taken.
- We suggest that catching a maximum of 8 fish for catch and release in a day would indicate a good fishing experience.
- The holding of a current N.R.A. license is required by law. It is an individual’s responsibility to acquire one.
- ALL catches, including returns, must be noted in the FISHING RECORD BOOK. All fish taken must be recorded by number and weight. Visitors must still record their visit should they catch no fish.
- The boats are bookable. Please see the price on our price list.
- Bank fishing is not permitted between the Car Park and the Boat House.
- The jetty directly to the left of Boat House is for Boat House guests use and not available for fishing.
- Access to the lake MUST be via Otby Top Barn adjacent to Walesby Hill top cross-roads. Please leave all gates as you find them. Car parking is on the stone area at the bottom of the concrete road.
- No dogs are allowed.
- No permission to go beyond the confines of the lake is implied or given to any visitors.
